The Winter Workshop 2009 - with Noche Flamenca Danza Viva proudly presented 'The Winter Workshop 2009' with Soledad Barrio, Juan Fernandez and Jose Suarez 'El Torombo' from Noche Flamenca on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 July 2009.The masterclasses were open to all interested flamenco dancers and were a great success. A very big thank you to Soledad, Juan and El Torombo for sharing their passion and for the time they spent with Danza Viva whilst in Perth. It was hugely appreciated. The Summer Workshop 2009 - with José Torres Danza Viva proudly announced the return visit to Perth of José Torres for an intensive flamenco dance course in January 2009. José has studied Spanish dance extensively with many luminaries including Ana Gonzalez and Juan Mata, the founding members and former first dancers of the Ballet Nacional de España. José is a Principal Dancer of the Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater (EESDT) in Chicago, USA, and has appeared in over 40 choreographies. Equally comfortable as a member of an ensemble, soloist, guest artista or instructor, José Torres is a well-rounded professional dedicated to the art of Spanish Dance. José brought a fresh approach and experience to the Summer Workshop program. Danza Viva thanks the Instituto de la Danza Española (IDE), all sponsors, volunteers and friends for their valued support and a big thank you to José Torres for his valuable input, insight and choreography.
